Departure timing done properly
The risk on a departure transfer is different from an arrival: there is no flight to track, only a check-in desk that closes. We plan the pick-up backwards from your flight time, allowing for the season, the day of the week, and the notorious morning build-up on the M6 approach to Dublin.
As a rule we aim to have you at the terminal three hours before a long-haul departure and two and a half before short-haul. If you prefer a bigger cushion, we simply start earlier — the fare does not change.
Early starts are the norm here
A large share of transatlantic and European departures from Dublin leave in the early morning, which for the midlands means a collection between 2am and 5am. Those are precisely the bookings that local taxis decline and that a bus timetable cannot serve.
Because we are based in Athlone, the early start is a short repositioning for the driver rather than a night shift beginning 100 km away. It is the single most requested service we run.
Group departures and drop-offs
Wedding parties, golf groups, and families travelling together keep everyone in one vehicle with their luggage, arriving at the terminal at the same moment rather than in a scattered convoy of cars.
Drop-off is at the departures door of Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, with the driver handling luggage from the vehicle to the trolley. If you would like the arrival transfer booked at the same time, both legs can be confirmed together through the booking form.

Frequently asked questions
How early should I leave Athlone for a Dublin Airport flight?
As a guide, four hours before a long-haul departure and three and a half before a short-haul flight — that covers the 90-minute drive plus recommended check-in time and a safety margin for morning traffic. We confirm the exact pick-up time when you book.
Will you collect at 3am?
Yes. Early-morning departures are a core part of this service and carry no night surcharge. The fare is the same as a daytime transfer.
Can you collect from outside Athlone town?
Yes — Ballinasloe, Moate, Roscommon, Mullingar, Birr, Glasson, and rural addresses across Westmeath and Roscommon. Give the exact address when requesting a quote and the fare is confirmed for that pick-up point.
What if my flight time changes?
Tell us as soon as you know and the pick-up is rescheduled at no charge. Changes made with reasonable notice are simply part of the service.
