Why Cork is the sensible gateway to Killarney

Cork Airport is the nearest major airport to Killarney, and from the terminal the journey takes around an hour and twenty minutes. That is a lot less than a trip from Dublin, and it puts a Kerry holiday within reach of anyone with a flight into Cork.

Your chauffeur tracks your flight and meets you in arrivals, so a late landing does not leave you without a ride at the end of a long day.

The road itself

The route follows the N22 west through Macroom and over the border into Kerry. Beyond Macroom it is largely single carriageway, which is why a driver who knows the road and its pinch points is worth having, especially in the summer months.

Comfort stops are included, and a stop at a viewpoint or a village café can be arranged if you would like to break the journey.

Kerry once you arrive

Killarney is the base for the Ring of Kerry, and the Ring of Kerry and Killarney private tour uses the same chauffeur and vehicle. Killarney National Park, Muckross House, and Ross Castle are all close to the town.

If you are arriving at Dublin instead, see the Dublin Airport to Killarney transfer for the longer route.
