A calmer way into Galway

Knock is a compact airport with short walks and quick baggage, and the drive south to Galway is one of the more straightforward in the west. The road runs through Claremorris and Tuam, and there is no motorway congestion of the kind that makes airport transfers around Dublin unpredictable.

Your chauffeur tracks the flight and is waiting in arrivals, so you can move from the terminal to the vehicle without queuing for a taxi.

Galway and beyond

Drop-off can be a hotel on Eyre Square, a house in Salthill, a wedding venue in Oranmore, or a lodging in Barna or Spiddal. For guests heading further, Connemara and Clifden are routine onward legs that can be quoted at the same time.

The Connemara and Kylemore Abbey private tour is a popular add-on for the day after arrival, run by the same chauffeur.

Staying in Mayo instead

If your destination is a hotel on the Mayo side, the Knock Airport to Ashford Castle transfer is a shorter journey of around an hour. Westport and the coast are also commonly quoted from Knock.

Travellers who combine airports, for example flying out of Dublin and in to Knock, can book each leg at its own fixed fare.
